Position Summary
The Center for Global Health & Infectious Disease in the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a permanent full-time Social/Clinical Research Assistant for the Center for AIDS Research of the UNC-CH School of Medicine. The candidate will provide support for HIV research by having primary responsibility for data collection and management, medical chart abstraction, recruiting and enrolling patients into research projects, administering informed consent and questionnaires to patients, and coordinating project day to day activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The applicant must have strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and work independently.
Computer experience and skill with email, MS Excel, and data entry required.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Ideal candidates will have some experience in research projects coordination, and direct patient contact, some background in HIV medical research and terminology. Ideal candidates will have Bachelor degree in health-related area, some background in HIV/AIDS and medical terminology, experience with chart abstractions and administering surveys to patients. Bilingual (Spanish) ability is a plus. Ability to observe, collect, and record a variety of data/information, within well-defined research parameters. Ability to documents data/information collected. Ability to use established data/information systems, functions, and/or procedures to collect and store data/information. Ability to review data and information for completeness and accuracy within well-defined research parameters.
