DiGioia Gray is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Supervisor for our Phoenix, AZ office. The ideal candidate will have experience performing geotechnical and geologic analyses and investigations, leading projects, managing client relationships, and developing staff members. Experience needed:

• At least 10 years of experience performing geotechnical engineering as a registered professional
• Has or is able to readily obtain an Arizona Civil Engineering PE
• People management experience
• Subject matter expert in geotechnical engineering, providing technical expertise and guidance for both staff and clients
• Developing and conducting geotechnical field investigations, including site boring, rock coring and seismic geophysical surveys
• Able to characterize long, linear project sites with limited data
• Emphasis in deep foundation design and construction (drilled shafts) preferred
• Experience with electric utilities is beneficial (not required)

Management duties:

• Manage projects and ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget and consistent with client and company standards – serve as Project Manager
• Supervise, mentor and train staff of the Geosciences and Civil Service Line
• Develop and maintain client relationships while expanding sales opportunities with new clients – participate in client meetings related to new work opportunities
• Participate in recruitment of new staff to expand office capabilities
• Work with the Engineering Directors and Management for resource planning and forecasting
• Clearly and readily communicate with contractors, clients and others affiliated with projects to proactively resolve potential issues (client advocate)

Engineering duties:

• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for performing daily geotechnical engineering work
• Team with the Engineering Directors and Management to prepare proposals for major client contracts and master service agreements (local point of contact)
• Write geotechnical and foundation design reports, specifications, design plans and visual aids
• Develop and conduct geotechnical field investigations, including site boring, rock coring and seismic geophysical surveys

Education:

• BS and MS in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering
