The role you’ll contribute:

The Wound Care Center Supervisor (Supervisor) provides oversight for accuracy and accountability of the patient care delivered by the wound care clinical staff by reviewing documentation, patient outcomes, and assisting with or directly assessing patient care delivered. She/he ensures that quality standards are met, coordinates and assists with or assigns wound care teaching for new employee orientation and annual competency, assists with the review and/or creation of departmental policies and processes, assists with or takes patient care assignments as needed, assists with department staff and physician meetings.

The Supervisor is accountable for coordinating the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for the patients under his/her care. The Supervisor is accountable for administering, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the nursing process in the provision of care; and will strive to maintain and improve patient outcomes.

The Supervisor is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission and patient promise of AdventHealth Sebring. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice. S/he critically evaluates evidence for application to clinical practice in his / her area of practice.

  • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations of the Wound Care Center.

  • Interprets and directs the implementation of nursing philosophy, objectives and Policy & Procedures.

  • Resolves patient and family concerns/complaints as well as investigate, report and follow-up on patient care complaints by physicians and/or staff.

  • Updates Director on pertinent issues daily.

  • Assists in assignments, directing and reviewing the work of staff nurses and/or other personnel.

  • Assists in monitoring and evaluating operations for compliance and licensure, accreditation and regulatory standards.

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in an out-patient wound care setting along with clinical oversight of care delivered by the clinical nursing staff.

  • Reviews documentation to ensure accuracy

  • Responsible for coordinating departmental clinical orientation of new employees and annual reviews.

Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Minimum of two years of wound care experience

  • Completion of Hyperbaric training required

  • Certification in wound care

  • Active RN license in State of Florida
