WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Target Salary Range ($64,480-$67,000)

Sorrento Therapeutics (“Sorrento”) is seeking a Process Development and MFG Research Associate position to help with protein production and DNA plasmid cGMP production in microbial system including process development and manufacturing. Major tasks include: Buffer preparation, bacteria culture including fermentation in bioreactor and harvest, bacteria lysis and protein and plasmid DNA purification.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Reagent preparation, PCR, Agarose gel and PAGE gel electrophoresis, plasmid DNA isolation, bacteria culture and protein purification and analytic method development.
  • Adhere to the production schedule ensuring on-time, internal production logistics.
  • Work in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete production tasks required by shift schedule.
  • Write SOPs and BPRs based on process development results.
  • Follow detailed directions (Batch Record execution) in a GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Participates and contributes in group and project meetings as required.
  • Works in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology or related disciplines with 0-2 years relevant laboratory experience
  • Operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as appropriate to the individual laboratory (including instrument maintenance and calibration).
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good inter-personal skills and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficient at writing and oral presentations.
  • Proficient in the use of standard desktop computer software programs.
  • Effective project and time management skills.
  • Team player capable of operating in a dynamic matrix environment.
