Mountain Valley Child and Family Services (MVCFS) is looking for a Program Director for our Nevada City location, who is ready and willing to be a part of our team and come work with our youth and staff. The youth need people like you who are able to provide direct oversight to our direct care and leadership team. Our staff work directly with our youth providing daily activities, practice and learn life and social skills, and help in their education and our private classrooms -which are located on our property, within feet from where the kids live. MVCFS provides individualized mental health treatment and education for troubled youth ages 10-21 in a residential setting in Nevada City and Sacramento and TBS services throughout the Bay area.
Our Nevada City campus is located on approx 900 acres with opportunities for sports, greenhouse/gardening, wood working, fishing, swimming, biking, hiking, and working with animals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain high quality program services.
- Ensure that the treatment program provided is consistent with the Program Statement, Community Care Licensing regulation, State and Federal Laws, and MVCFS policy and Quality Support Program Standards and clinical direction.
- Ensure adequate staff to client ratio
- Share responsibility for recruiting and interviewing
- Provide orientation, training and direct supervision
- Liaison between program and administration, professional organizations and community liaison
- Attend meetings with staff
- Attend meetings and groups with youth
- Arbitrate staff conflicts and provide adequate grievance review.
- Maintain administrative records
- Member of program development committee
- Oversee needs and concerns of day to day program operations
- Build professional positive relationship with Treatment Teams
- Customer service
- Ensure that clients receive the best standard of care
- Ensure seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation.
- Ensure facility is maintained in a safe and healthy manner at all times
- Provide written departmental updates
- Monitor budget and meet with accounting department to ensure proper spending.
- Maintain and always train the MVCFS "Kid Centered"Culture
Qualifications
1. A Graduate degree in a social science field or a minimum of five years’ experience in a
residential setting
2. Five years relevant experience in program specialty
3. Five years progressively responsible administrative and/or supervisory duties
4. Appropriate degrees, credentials, and licenses, as may be required by law or
professional standard bodies.
Abilities
1. Comprehensive knowledge of psycho-dynamics of adolescent behavior.
2. Demonstrated ability to perform program specialty, provide supervisory skills and
assume administrative duties and responsibilities.
3. Able to work in a harmonious manner with subordinates, supervisors and others.
4. Knowledge of complexities and mechanics of coordinating a special program/s or
agency program/s.
5. Knowledge of developments and trends in program field.
6. Intimate knowledge of all State and Federal Regulations
7. Program Director must be able to use their mental faculties to make appropriate
judgment in all areas that affect the care, welfare, safety and security of MVCFS staff
and residents.
8. The Program Director must be able to walk, run, bend, climb, lift and engage in
physical restraints which require physical strength, endurance and flexibility in all body
joints and major muscle groups.

Salary range: $62,400 - $106,000/annual salary depending on education and experience
