Marketing Coordinator Job at YMCA

YMCA Lafayette, CO 80026

Join our association in this leadership role.
Job Description

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a meticulous communicator and process-loving team player to support the marketing efforts of this fast-growing nonprofit organization.

The Marketing Coordinator will eagerly take on a wide variety of tasks related to developing programs, driving revenue and building awareness for our soon-to-be six YMCAs in Northern Colorado and Cheyenne, preschools, overnight camp and our countless off-site after-school programs, sports sites and summer camps. That includes everything from writing descriptions and creating content to brainstorming campaign ideas with co-workers to tracking down and organizing program and event information.

The Y's Marketing Coordinator will be a Swiss Army Knife-type marketer who can do a little bit of a lot... And it's going to take someone pretty sharp to cut it. We are looking for someone who can harness their organizational skills, marketing passion and creativity to help one of Northern Colorado's largest nonprofits inform, engage and uplift members, program participants, donors and community members.

Does that have you, like, #careergoals? #marketingforgood

You might be the right candidate if you...

  • You understand the foundations of nonprofit and for-profit marketing. You know the importance of branding, impact-driven messaging and connecting with the right audiences at the right time with the right message. You have solid writing skills and a basic understanding of design. You can't wait to learn more and grow as a nonprofit marketer.
  • You are organized. Like, really super-duper organized. You are detail oriented, and you appreciate others who share those qualities. This position will collect and organize program and event information from our staff - digitally or with a good ol' fashioned phone call - and help the entire marketing department stay on top of the many YMCA offerings that need promotion. We need someone who can juggle with the best of them ... actual juggling experience not necessary.
  • You are a fast learner and lover of new technology. You may not be an SEO pro or a master of Mailchimp, but you have a foundation of knowledge on which you are ready and eager to build. This position will dabble in many different areas and will have the opportunity to learn or master many marketing platforms, including Marq/Lucidpress, Falcon/Brandwatch, our content management system, Mailchimp, a new email automation system and so much more.
  • You play nice with others while also being an assertive, professional communicator. You are not afraid to pick up the phone (or heck, drive to another Y) to get what you need. Our ideal candidate is an eager team player who can communicate and work with a diverse array of individuals and groups.

OUR BENEFITS ROCK. We are a family friendly organization that puts a focus on work-life balance, and our benefits prove it. All full-time staff enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks paid vacation; increased vacation days are awarded to full-time staff based on professional work experience. Full-time YMCA staff receive 88 hours of paid sick time and 8 paid holidays per year. Full-time staff enjoy free YMCA traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to swim lessons and childcare, including after-school and preschool, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental and vision benefits. We provide long-term disability and life insurance at no cost to full-time employees. For eligible staff we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.
