Metal Stamping Technician Compensation/Benefits:
- Pay $18.00 - $22.00/hour depending on experience
- 1st Shift: 6:00am to 4:00pm
- Monday - Thursday
- Medical, Dental, andPaid Vacation and Holidays
Metal Stamping Technician General Duties
The Set-Up Person is responsible for the complete set-up, change over, and troubleshooting of dies in multi-slides and punch presses, along with related auxiliary equipment.
Metal Stamping Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Breaks down completed orders and sets up dies and form tools in punch presses and multi-slide machines, using hand tools and gauges.
- Sets up, breaks down, and troubleshoots issues with auxiliary equipment including feeds, take-ups, and payouts.
- Troubleshoots dies in the presses. Determines, in cooperation with tool room, when a die needs sharpening.
- Adjusts machinery and tooling as necessary to maintain acceptable quality levels.
- Threads metal strips from payout reel to die.
- Completes first line quality checks for first piece party submission, conferring with QA on quality of parts.
- Performs maintenance on machinery as needed in coordination with maintenance department.
- Moves raw material to the press and performs other material handling activities as necessary with handcarts and forklift.
- Handles and disposes scrap.
- Keeps work area clean, organized and safe at all times.
Metal Stamping Technician Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be able to read and write English and possess basic math and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to read precision measuring instruments and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills needed; a basic knowledge of electronics is desirable.
- Must be flexible in working overtime.
- Must be willing to develop a working knowledge of ISO/TS procedures and SPC.
Metal Stamping Technician Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- Prior experience setting up multi-slides and punch press machines is preferred.
Metal Stamping Technician Physical Demands
- Must be capable of lifting 80 lbs.
