Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES:
- Assists skilled maintenance workers.
- May perform simple repairs on electrical equipment and machinery or minor repairs to the facilities including painting, plastering, carpentry and plumbing.
- Effectively communicates with personnel of other departments, medical staff, patients and co-employees while performing duties and with suppliers to purchase materials.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of general mechanic or building maintenance experience required.
- Prefer experience supporting a large hospital or medical facility.
Skills
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
- Communication and independent decision making skills.
Certification and Licensure
- Drivers license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically able to perform the tasks that require twisting, bending, squatting, crawling in tight spaces, lifting weights that may exceed eighty (80) pounds, and climbing ladders that range from 2’ to 40’ tall, on a regular basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Work may be performed in various working conditions including wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and/or normal office conditions.
