Lead Administrator/Principal: Elementary School

(small elementary charter school up to 550 students)

Someone who understands staff chemistry, team building and cultivating a culture of success and excellence. Reporting to and supervised by the CEO, the Lead Administrator is responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe and rigorous learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school.

As instructional facilitators within the school, the principals serve as leaders who are responsible for the attainment of the charter school’s academic and cultural goals, implementing the programming and managing personnel. Achieving academic excellence requires that the school Administrators work collaboratively to direct and support all members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with parents.

Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for leadership, willingness to learn, scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, communicating with parents and students, and facility operations.

Qualified candidate will join a team of administrators and must demonstrate leadership to ensure high standards of instructional programming and student learning.


Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Preferred experience and philosophical agreement with Direct Instruction (Madeline Hunter Method: I do, we do, you do), Teach Like a Champion techniques, skill mastery, high expectations, and classical education approach.

Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hours work may be required. Job responsibilities include both inside and outside duties. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

Requirements:

  • Valid Colorado Professional Educator License or Principal License
  • Demonstrated minimum 3 years classroom teaching experience
  • Outstanding experience as a Principal, Leader and/or Coach
  • Experience and ability to develop, implement, and evaluate instructional curricula
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Colorado Academic Standards
  • Knowledge of CMAS, READ Act
  • Exemplary human relation skills
  • Well respected as an education and community leader
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
