The Inside Sales Specialist I will report to the Key Account Manager(s) and will provide internal support by coordinating sales-related activities between Modine and our customers. You will work onsite/hybrid at our Corporate Headquarters in Racine, WI.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

You will provide support to Key Account Manager for sales-related functions. You will assist customer account team with launching new customer programs and supporting current business and relationship.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, good math capability, and computer knowledge (Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)/Word/SAP). Minimum of a high school diploma is required. An associate degree or equivalent experience in business administration, engineering, sales, or inside sales.

The Inside Sales Specialist I position requires you to be a team player who can handle several projects and adjusts well to changes.

The Inside Sales Specialist I is in training and the Key Account Manager, ISS Lead or assigned designee will review work until such time that you show proficiency in specific accountabilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Key Account Manager to complete customer quotations promptly. Understand how to process customer RFQ’s through GQRS system (as support) and use this tool to quote and release new programs.
  • Ensure that the account team is following work instructions and that appropriate approvals are obtained before quoting.
  • Respond to customer RFQ’s and change requests using several customer web-based quote systems or completing quote and tooling transparencies. The internal customer team (Key Account Manager, Program Manager, and Engineering) will provide input, assistance and agreement for all quotations.
  • New customer account set up, including obtaining customer credit documentation and risk rate assessment.
  • Review initial purchase orders to ensure pricing accuracy, customer contracts/notifications, enter orders for Racine, request estimates, set pricing under Key Account Manager/Rep direction/guidance, quote, follow up with customers and internal Modine were deemed necessary.
  • Help review the customer’s terms and conditions or clauses and providing feedback to the Key Account Manager. Route T&C/clauses to other internal departments (warranty, engineering, pricing, and quality) for their input. All of this information will be provided to the Key Account Manager. The Key Account Manager will provide comments/concerns to the legal department to determine if any exceptions must be taken. Work with the Key Account Manager to draft a response to the customer regarding any T&C exceptions or acceptance of T&C.
  • Ensure copies of all contracts / terms that have been reviewed are saved in the appropriate customer file. If Modine has taken any exceptions to the contract, the exceptions are saved with the contract on the same location.
  • Support by providing assistance to document processes, make process improvements and other projects. We work with several important personnel to accomplish these tasks.
  • Work with Modine’s estimating department and the plants to understand estimates, costs and BOM structures. This knowledge will allow the Inside Sales Specialist I to be prepared to discuss or answer questions if required by the customer or Key Account Manager.
  • Develop a close working relationship with customers, immediate internal team members (i.e. Key Account Manager, Engineers, Program Managers) and other supporting internal Modine groups (i.e. Pricing, Estimating, Credit, IT, Manufacturing, Standards, Warranty and plant personnel) to provide customer and company support.
  • Work with Credit Department, Key Account Manager, plants and Pricing Department to resolve customer and plant-related price issues that contribute to DSO. Our goal is to increase cash flow.
  • Initiate New Product Releases (NPR) ensuring that the process of the NPRs has been complete.
  • Acquire knowledge of Modine pricing system and guidelines for setting up and maintaining pricing.
  • Understand how prices being quoted to our customers were developed. Be prepared to answer questions concerning market, quantity, materials. if asked.
  • Work with the Key Account Manager and customer to confirm that pricing has been accepted before the price catalog is updated.
  • Communicate with our manufacturing facilities on price changes.
  • Review the customer’s price contracts for accuracy.
  • Have a basic understanding of our products to support business processes required to release new programs and for future customer support.
  • Track production life of product, re-quoting at the service only level.
  • Work with engineering to determine which part numbers will be set-up for service on all new programs. Request estimates for all parts, create and submit quotes to customer. Release internal paperwork to ensure pricing, drawings and bills of material are set-up in our internal system.
  • Ensure tooling/development charges are invoiced to customer upon notification of PPAP approval from plant/engineering or based on previously agreed to invoicing timeline.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer and Program Manager on tooling reconciliation projects by the customer. This task is completed at the time of PPAP and final invoice to customer for our programs.
  • Mediate between Customer and internal Modine areas such as IT, Pricing, Credit or plant personnel to solve commercial issues. This may include issues regarding purchase orders, credit/debit, invoicing, pricing issues, customer notifications, past due shipments, EDI or others customer/supplier, Sales/Internal related issues.
  • Assist Key Account Managers or work directly with marketing personnel annually regarding customer account forecasting. Enter details into the Sales Plan/Business Warehouse.
  • Maintain an up-to-date organized customer program/part file. The file will include history and ongoing items such as quotes, NPRs, CRs, pricing changes, acceptance and compliance to price changes.
  • Support customer communications and follow up activities related to 80-20 programs, economic price increases, force majeure events, tariffs.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Travel minimal, occasional customer visits and seminars at customer and Modine.
  • Due to Modine’s global presence, there may be requirements for early or late hours
  • Expected 40+ hours per week plus occasional weekend time.
  • Attend customer team meetings and staff meetings.
  • Business casual dress code required unless otherwise directed by HR.
