         We need your 
         front-end web development skills using 
         HTML
         /
         CSS
         , JavaScript, and design to create innovative dashboards, websites, and modern visualizations. Your web skills can help to improve decision-making and policy implementation, advance the practice and delivery of care, and strengthen communities. Our advanced research institute excels in data science and statistical analysis, with such an interdisciplinary team there are opportunities to create a variety of visualization tools each with their own analysis, communication needs, and end-users.

         This position will have primary responsibility to:
        
        - Assist in the front-end web development by managing and overseeing the daily maintenance of websites and other online features such as online mapping applications.
 
- Work under general supervision to synthesize and translate instructional and business needs into creative visualizations and tools.
 
- Assist in developing modern web applications using frameworks, web APIs, and design systems.
 
- Create basic maps while expanding skill sets in data visualization design principles and best practices.
 
- Stay abreast of emerging design features and new online visualizations.
 
        Minimum Qualifications
       
 
       
         Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Public Health, environmental science or relevant area, and 1 or more years related GIS experience.
        
        - Knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript;
 - Demonstrable front-end web development skills;
 - Demonstrable mapping and cartography skills;
 - Experience with GIS, data analytics tools, and data visualization applications such as Tableau, Alteryx, ArcGIS, or ArcPro;
 - Strong documentation and communication skills;
 - Experience with GIS software and WebGIS.
 - A solid understanding of how web applications work including accessibility, security, session management, and best development practices.
 - Experience developing modern web applications using frameworks, web APIs, and design systems.
 - Ability to manipulate code efficiently using an IDE or advanced text editor.
 - Ability to work within version control systems.
 - Ability to quickly learn new applications and concepts.
 - Proficiency developing and updating technical documentation and training materials for client business stakeholders to serve as reference.
 - Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities.
 - Ability to successfully manage competing priorities & deliverables in a dead-line oriented environment.
 - Ability to perform data investigation (e.g., data source identification, feasibility of joins, determine data reasonableness based on business insights).
 - Ability to confer with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, and choose solutions.
 - Organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills.
 - Strong oral and written communication skills.
 
        Preferred Qualifications
       
 
       - Master’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Public Health, environmental science, or relevant area.
 - Experience working with health-related datasets such as Medicaid/Medicare, hospitalizations, births, cancer, etc.
 - Background in GIS and geospatial techniques used in mapping health events.
 
        Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
       
 
       
         Experience in the use of the Esri suite of GIS tools (ArcGIS Desktop/Pro) and cloud-platform (ArcGIS Online), front-end technologies and tooling, web accessibility and design best practices, authentication and authorization platforms, version control systems, and other products/software to create both internal and external dashboards and web products for the IFS. Experience should include a background in GIS and geospatial techniques used in mapping health events, along with skills in developing modern web applications using frameworks, web APIs, and design systems.
