As a global ministry, we are seeking a Christ-centered Chief Technology Officer who is called to be part of our team to help shape our technical strategy, lead our technology team, ensure platform security, and drive our technological advancements. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) adds values and drives efficiency through the use of technology by building strategies and solutions that meet the vision goals of Faith Life Ministries. The CTO is always looking for ways to integrate technology and efficiency in order to cut costs, save time, and achieve the organization’s ministry and technology objectives. He/She must continually find ways to successfully manage a large technology budget, without sacrificing quality and service, in addition to overseeing other departmental projects through to completion. The CTO will spend a significant amount of time communicating with, establishing, and maintaining relationships with outside vendors to gain access to the latest technology solutions available. The CTO must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. **This position is not remote and would require the ideal candidate to live near the Columbus, Ohio area**.
 Job Description:
 Technology Strategy & Vision
- Develop and implement a strategic technology plan aligned with our Vision and Mission, ensuring that technology investments contribute to achieving our short and long-term goals.
 - Identify emerging technology trends, threats, and innovations, assessing their potential impact on the Ministry, and integrating them into planning and operations.
 - Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
 
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the technology team, including software acquisition, development, IT infrastructure, and data management personnel.
 - Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of technical talent, implementing effective recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
 - Promote cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between the technology team and the entire Ministry team.
 
Project and Portfolio Management
- Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of technology projects, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and adherence to budgets.
 - Establish and monitor relevant performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success and effectiveness of technology initiatives.
 - Implement effective project management methodologies, tools, and processes to ensure efficiency and transparency.
 
IT Infrastructure and Security
- Design, implement and maintain a robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components.
 - Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies and practices, ensuring the protection of the Ministry’s data and intellectual property.
 - Plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations in the event of a technology failure or security breach.
 
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
 - Maintain strong relationships with department heads and leadership throughout the Ministry, providing regular updates on technology initiatives and their impact on the business.
 - Demonstrate thought leadership and technical expertise.
 
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
 - Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of successful technology strategy development and implementation.
 - Strong understanding of technologies and trends.
 - Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
 - Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
 - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
 - Experience in managing IT infrastructure, information security, and data management.
