Wood Shop Production Technician:

• Starting Pay:

$20 per hour to start. Once you are trained and can produce our products more rapidly, you will be paid more. How quickly this occurs depends on the individual. Some people learn more quickly than others.

• Job description, what will you be doing?

You will be making wood parts using saws, sanders and routers and then assembling them. You need to be comfortable using power tools to qualify for this job. Eventually you will learn to build the parts of tables and benches and other wood products and assemble the parts into furniture, completely ready to deliver to the customers.

• Schedule and Hours:

Currently the schedule is Monday throughThursday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, 24 hours/ week.

The job is part-time but could become full time as you learn the job. When you are trained, can work and produce without the boss being there to oversee you, you may be asked to work full time. Full time is 40 hours/week.

• Opportunity for advancement:

As the company grows and expands, there will naturally be more opportunities and jobs will become available that pay more. For instance, we will need a Production Manager in the shop who will control more than just his own production, he will control the production of the entire shop including managing others, ordering materials and scheduling deliveries.

Some shop tech may eventually become sales representatives. This job pays more than Shop Technician but involves travel and difficult hours.

What is certain is that there will be opportunities for higher pay for those who earn it.

• Benefits:

At this time, we pay more per hour than most. As we are a very small skilled business, we do not offer benefits. As the economy changes, we will continue to pay more than most other companies.

It isn't easy to get a job here as we, once we train you, require a high degree of professionalism and skill in the making of the furniture. We have loyal customers who appreciate the skill and fine craftsmanship in our furniture. You will earn better pay than most other similar jobs. You will be producing something that is highly valued by our customers and quality really counts. We have eliminated all toxic chemical wood finishes in our shop and our finishes are all non-toxic and organic.

This is a woodshop, masks have always been required. Safety glasses provided. We maintain a sanitized environment (in office.)
