The Opportunity

  • Working in a hybrid combination of remote work and in-office environments, the Senior Team Leader of the ClearGuard department is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the ClearGuard Team and maintaining the Ally SmartAuction relationship.
  • The ClearGuard Team handles the adjudication of buyer protection and seller protection claims, adjustments and repurchases as part of the Smart Auction arbitration process.
  • The position is responsible for managing loss control, customer service timeliness, reserving accuracy, personnel administration, licensing, regulatory compliance, and the continual development of process improvements. Work involves a great deal of initiative and extremely high level of independent judgment in making decisions.
  • The Senior Team Leader will typically have direct reports of 10-12 claim team members.

The Work Itself

  • Manage process improvement initiatives and oversee internal claim handling and technological processes to enhance efficiencies. Explore and develop tools to improve the dealers overall claims experience.
  • Oversee ClearGuard Team and ensure that the staff maintains the established Service, Quality and Productivity Metrics.
  • Provides direction on claim investigations, decision making, and documentation including review and approval of excess of staff authority levels
  • Responsible for the conclusion of escalated claims, complaint handling, and identification of fraud.
  • Develop staff through education and ensure successful completion of fraud, compliance, and required corporate training of all employees.

The Skills You Bring

  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • 5 + years in auto mechanical and physical damage claim handling is required.
  • At least 2 years leadership experience, 5+ years preferred.
  • Ability to provide advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
  • Leveraging technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
  • Contribute to and manage projects.
  • High level of analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills
