The School Accounting Assistant plays an essential part in the operations of our schools with the primary focus being on the middle schools. They are responsible for performing a variety of bookkeeping duties in accordance with procedures established by the Department of Education and School Board Policies. They manage budget preparation and fiscal oversight of school financial activity.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of bank deposits.
  • Prepare or approve requisitions for school.
  • Advise teachers and staff on DPI regulations, Board policies and District procedures in relation to financial oversight.
  • Collaborate with Lead School Accounting Specialist, administration and department heads to assist in the preparation of annual budget.
  • Assign and collect student fees.
-Train school staff on Skyward functions - requisitions, check requests, expense reimbursements, credit cards, reports, task processes, etc.
  • Create reports for Advisors, Coaches and Dept. Heads as needed
