Summary:
In a residential setting, the Respite Care House Manager is responsible for the management of a home on a 24-hour, 7-days a week basis and involves the supervision of direct support staff.
Staff in this position acts on behalf of A Caring Alternative, LLC in general operation of the facility and within established guidelines specific to service delivery.
Job Duties include:
  • Assists in the new hire process by reviewing applications scheduling initial and follow-up interviews with potential applicants selected for interview.
  • Adheres to all regulatory standards, organizational policies and procedures and monitor compliance across shifts, i.e. fire drills, confidentiality, etc. Acts as a safety officer for the facility and report any problem areas to the Corporate Safety Officer.
  • Maintain and utilized the home and other company property entrusted to your care, custody or control to assure the safety and extend the item’s useful life. This includes responsibility to purchase, distribute and supervise the use of resources such as, but not limited to, food , supplies, clothing, small equipment items and other appropriate needs for the program.
  • Ensures necessary food, cleaning supplies, work orders, etc. are maintained to provide a secure home environment for the individuals we serve.
  • Ensure petty cash is managed appropriately and complete the request for additional petty cash when applicable; or ensure petty cash is requested from the Finance Department, used appropriately and necessary receipts and any documentation of expenditures are retained and submitted in a timely manner
  • Maintains a complete staff schedule to ensure proper coverage in the house and minimize the use of overtime for coverage.
  • Ensures that all company equipment or vehicles used in conducting the responsibilities of this position is used in a responsible manner and maintained appropriately
Education and Experience Required:
  • 1 - A bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related Human Services area
  • 2 - Two (2) years of post-degree experience working in a direct support position in a facility servicing the population served
  • 3 - Minimum of one year of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Resume must include degree earned (major & minor), graduation month & year, relevant employment dates including month and year, and populations served.

A Caring Alternative, LLC is CABHA certified and a Trauma Informed Agency. We provide an array of services to Alexander, Buncombe, Burke, Catawba, Caldwell, Iredell, McDowell, and Mitchell counties which consist of Assertive Community Treatment Team, Community Support Team, Day Treatment, Integrated Care, Intensive In-Home, Medication Management, Outpatient Therapy, and Therapeutic Foster Care.
