Medical Billing / AR 2 Customer Service Role

Core Experience:

• 1+ years of Medical Billing Experience (Claims, Denials, Rejections, Insurance Follow-Ups etc)
• 1+ year of experience in a call center capacity or similar
• Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims.
• Ability to meet quality and productivity requirements
• Ability to multi-task (Ex: Listen and type while speaking to patient via phone)
• Microsoft Office Suite Experience (Excel, Word, Outlook and MS teams!!), SharePoint
• Minimum of High School Diploma (A.A. or B.A. preferred)
• Must have high speed internet at home, ability to work with no distraction, and have a smartphone
• Must pass a computer proficiency assessment / speed internet test

A Day in the Role:

• Handling 70+ calls daily to support 30 different physician practices
• This team supports the AR cycle – it is super important to understand claims, billing, EOBS, co-pays, insurance etc.
• Handle calls for patient payment plans, resolving patient balances, answering and inquiries, financial assistance, disputes etc.
• Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
• Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts
• Update billing software with rate changes
• Updates cash spreadsheet, runs collection reports
