Receptionist - Centro San Juan Diego Job at Archdiocese Of Denver
THE POSITION: The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for answering telephones, opening the front door, greeting and helping visitors, and providing limited secretarial duties for Centro San Juan Diego, including ordering supplies, sorting mail and making copies. All responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Operations Manager of Centro San Juan Diego, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the goals and objectives of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Answer the main phone lines to CSJD, screen and transfer accordingly;
Screen calls and provide referrals when necessary;
Attend and direct walk-in visitors to the right location;
Compose, prepare and distribute correspondence and other documents as instructed;
Sort and distribute income/outgoing mail daily;
Help students register for classes and collect fees as needed.
Create and post building and holiday closures;
Manage calendar schedule for the use of the facility/room scheduling for classes, meetings, rental, etc.
Coordinate AV needs for the facility, including use of traveling and classroom laptops/projectors, stage and sound system;
Coordinate maintenance of copier/print machines on both floors including ordering toner and paper and coordinating service calls with the Archdiocese facility team;
Attend and prepare meeting minutes, membership records, correspondence, and files as required;
Assist with the organization and planning of program events (e.g. graduation ceremonies);
Schedule appointments for programs (e.g. lawyers, therapy and tax preparation);
Research pricing and order supplies as needed;
Create, research and update outside referral list of resources (e.g. housing, food, rent assistance)
Assist in providing building key access and alarm code instructions to facility renters;
Coordinate the Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance program through Centro San Juan Diego;
Communicate regularly with staff, teachers, and volunteers about use of space and activities;
Work effectively in a team environment;
Submit and track expenses;
Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager of Centro San Juan Diego;
EDUCATION:
Require High School graduate or equivalent experience;
Valid driver license.

Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043);
Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
General understanding of the Catholic Latino experience and effectively work with people from diverse cultures.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Require knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint)
Demonstrate commitment and high professional standards
Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate computer and mouse, copier/printer and telephone;
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds;
Capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds;
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear;
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms;
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and the ability to adjust focus;
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, or kneel;
Travel to purchase office supplies/facility supplies required.
