Position Summary:*
The O&G Production Accountant is responsible for utilizing accounting, industry, and client-specific knowledge along with proprietary software to keep track of activity accurately and appropriately at well sites, pipelines, and other facilities, for multiple clients of the organization. This position will gather production data and prepare ad hoc reports and projects for multiple clients.

Essential Functions:*

  • Assure accurate, complete, and timely monthly and ad hoc reports for selected clients which meet the unique organizational requirements of each client
  • Coordinate the production accounting processes and projects for selected clients accurately, timely, and completely and in a manner that demonstrates a high level of customer responsiveness
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain oil and gas allocations; Ensure accuracy of all daily and monthly allocations, down to the well level
  • Monitor and maintain production volumes of operated properties to ensure revenues are received and recorded accurately
  • Work with field operators and asset team to correct any Operations ERP/Accounting ERP issues with daily production
  • Become proficient with the Operations ERP/Accounting ERP software to successfully complete Delivery setups
  • Prepare and monitor all third-party oil and gas statements on operated properties
  • Prepares State and Federal production reports and submits as requested/required
  • Files all applicable state well tests and limited regulatory paperwork (non-drilling and completion), with appropriate agencies
  • Monitor and resolve compliance issues associated with production audits and third-party audits if applicable
  • Maintain professional working relationships with all levels of personnel
  • Achieve and maintain proficiency and understanding of field flows
  • Consult with management to resolve issues as necessary
  • Work with team and clients to professionally resolve accounting issues unique to individual client

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in production accounting with thorough knowledge of all aspects of accounting**
  • Experience handling and organizing computer files (copying, moving, organizing in folders)
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to work as a team in an office environment
  • Proven ability to organize the physical flow of work documents
  • Proven ability to verify the accuracy of numerical data
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Capable of high productivity in a deadline-driven environment with requirement for extreme accuracy
  • Proven excellent customer service orientation and ability to interface in a positive manner with co-workers and clients at various organizational levels and from diverse cultures
  • Problem-solution orientation; strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
