President of Greenwood

Greenwood is looking for an experienced lumber trader with executive management experience to manage and grow the business while utilizing their current customer base and expanding ours.

A proven track record of successful supply sourcing and trading of industrial and business to business products is essential. Our business is based on program business, providing tailored, quality products repeatedly performing to spec that our customers can depend on. We are team-oriented professionals with good work ethic and a desire to delight our world class suppliers and customers. Our business model is designed to share in the costs as well as the profits so earning potential rewards efficiency and good margins as well as supports recruiting efforts to attract additional talent. Knowledge of plywood panels and/or the construction industry would be beneficial, but not a requirement. The President of Greenwood will earn their own commission, a percentage of their team’s commission, as well as a portion of the trading company’s profitability.

Responsibilities in this Role

• Ability to analyze supply sources and set up consistent programs in which to supply customers
• Understanding of Specific Market pricing needs and how to custom tailor pricing programs
• Understand quality attributes of products and the quality control steps used to make those products
• Ability to manage a P&L
• Ability to recruit and lead a team of traders
• Ability to analyze customer requirements as it pertains to repetitive purchases of inventory
• Ability to properly manage inventory for best utilization of resources
• Have understanding of different wood products including Plywood knowledge
• Have understanding of transportation resources including LTL, Rail, & Trucking
• Have understanding of secondary manufacturing and similar resources such as warehousing
• Ability to bring on new customers working with dock workers through the company President
• Ability to solve problems in the most cost effective and efficient manner
• Ability to assess a customer claim and close it in a fair manner to both Greenwood and them
• Have experience and specialized understanding of specific markets targeted to pursue
• Have creativity to envision specialized products that fill specific needs of the customer

Ideal Candidate Requirements/Qualifications

• Demonstrated success working both independently and in highly collaborative environments
• Some knowledge in the construction section preferred, such as Concrete forms, furring strips and overall general construction knowledge
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously is required
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and be able to meet deadlines
• Computer literate in various software programs, ERP and internet, and email to produce correspondence, documents, and reports required by the position
• Ability to function and work in a Team Environment
• Ability to travel as needed
