Pharmacist-Retail and Specialty Hospital Based Outpatient Job at Bergen Pharmacy
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Retail Specialty Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing and managing both prescription and non-prescription medications. The pharmacist will be excepted to actively participate in and support clinical services, communicate with other health care professionals, supervise pharmacy technicians and staff and comply with federal and state laws as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in entering new patients and medications into pharmacy software system
- Ability to preform drug utilization reviews, patient counseling, process third party prescriptions and manage adjudication reviews
- Experience answering multi-line phone and processing high volume of order requests from nurses and doctors
- Ability to effectively communicate with doctors' offices via telephone and fax
Preferred Qualifications:
- A licensed RPh in New Jersey (License must be in good standing with the board of pharmacy)
- Previous retail pharmacy experience
- Help with prior authorizations
- Must possess strong organizational and verbal communications skills
- Ability to be a team player
- Strong focus on patient care and customer service
