Personal Service Assistant/CNA Job at Claiborne Senior Living
Claiborne Senior Living is looking for friendly, compassionate caregivers to work overnight, 11PM-7AM shift.
The Personal Service Attendant and/or CNA is responsible for providing personal assistance and routine daily care and services related to the residents in accordance with the Resident Care Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists residents in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks as needed and directed. This includes bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, transportation to meals and activities, bowel and bladder functions (e.g., take to bathroom, portable commode, change incontinency products, etc.), shaving, dressing, and hair care.
- Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting residents; answering resident’s call lights and requests; reporting observations of the resident to nursing supervisor
- Responds to resident’s needs promptly while maintaining each resident’s self- respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality.
- Assists residents into and out of bed and wheelchair as needed, following safe lifting/transfer techniques.
- Assures that residents are dressed and groomed appropriately.
- Assists Life Enrichment staff in carrying out planned activities.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records electronically.
- Uses Universal Precautions and follows established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
- Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, state, and local requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations and maintaining certification/licensure.
- Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
- Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work under pressure and relate well to residents
- CPR certification a plus
- Excellent bedside manner
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with an electronic health record system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Continuous walking, bending and standing
- Must be able to perform work both inside and outside, which requires stooping, bending and lifting of approximately 75 pounds
