Parenting Educator Job at Webster Groves School District
Primary Objective: To deliver direct educational and support services to families and to serve as a resource for parent during their children’s early years, prenatal to age 5.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, conduct, and report home/virtual private visits with families to develop goals and provide support to meet those goals.
- Manage multiple family caseloads and maintain accurate electronic records
- Contribute new program ideas for equitable family support and engagement
- Conduct screenings for children 3 months - 5 years
- Engage in Center-wide professional learning
- Organize/collaborate Parent learning opportunities
- Other assigned duties
Qualifications:
- Minimum of sixty college hours in related field and experience in a parenting educator/support capacity.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Vocational Home Economics, Child and Family Development, Social Work, or Elementary Education
- Prefer current certification through the National Center for Parents as Teachers.
- Must maintain PAT certification through participation in DESE-required and appropriate professional development.
- Must demonstrate ability in working with young children and families.
- Must demonstrate an understanding and ability to recruit, engage and work with families with different ethnic, socio-economic, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds to communicate and achieve shared goals.
- Strong knowledge of current technologies (i.e. presentation formats, Google tools, databases, social media)
