Department Overview
Shared Services is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable services to all our line of business partners. The Aviation Services department resides within the Shared Services organization. Aviation Services provides a full range of services; fixed wing, helicopter and UAV, needed for PG&E organizations to safely and efficiently meet Company objectives.
Position Summary
Performs a wide-range of technical work to support helicopter operations. Conducts helicopter audits and inspections, verifies equipment needs, coordinates development of and delivery of helicopter- related training, monitors operations and trends, investigates incidents and accidents and makes recommendations for improvement. Acts as the subject matter expert for helicopter maintenance, construction and patrol, acts as liaison with work crews and helicopter pilots. Interfaces internally across various departments and externally as needed. Rotates on-call for storm and emergency response.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $83,000
California Maximum: $124,000
Job Responsibilities
Leads the safety, cleanliness, and proper operation of PG&E aircraft and ensures aircraft are certifiable for deployment.
Collaborates with team or peers to work on issues, projects or activities.
Collaborates with leaders, other LOBs, and business partners to work on issues, projects or activities.
Investigates and determines root cause failures for incidents and near hits.
Gathers information through field audits, inquiries and data review.
Ensures that the department safety programs and improvement plans are well designed and executed.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
Experience in Hydro or Electric Ops. maintenance and construction
3 years job-related technical experience,
CA Class C License, or equivalent
Desired:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Experience in Electric Transmission, 5 years
Helicopter Patrolman experience
Corona Inspection certification
Infrared Thermographer Certification
HEC-Human External Load experience
Ability to travel up to 70 percent of working time
Ability to fly a helicopter on a flight of up to 8 hours
Willingness to fly a helicopter on a flight of up to 8 hours
