Responsibilities

Senior Architect and Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) supporting the Army’s Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) program initiatives. The successful candidate will use MBSE tools and techniques to support Open Systems Architecture approaches.

The candidate will be responsible for the following duties and tasks:

• Develop and maintain models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM), and Integration DEFinition (IDEF).
• Experience with various model based system-engineering tools - Rhapsody, Cameo Magic Draw, etc.
• Develop system models and create representations using data architectures and data models to facilitate interoperability.
• Test, analyze, and evaluate systems using MBSE artifacts
• Broad systems engineering experience (e.g. system architecture and design, systems documentation, system requirements, CONOPS, systems verification).
• Experience developing, deriving, and allocating tiered Systems Engineering requirements (preferably, in Aerospace & Defense applications).
• Understanding system interface requirements and interface management.
• Participating in system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation.
• Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.
• Participate in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
• Participate in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.
• Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
• Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• ABET accredited BS in an Engineering discipline; or BS in a related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools and procedures
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with performing software modelling (development) tasks
• Experience with C++ programming language
  
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
• Some travel

Minimum Experience and Education

Bachelors Degree and ten (10) years or more experience; Masters Degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD and three (3) years related experience

Desired Qualifications

• Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), Hardware Open System Technology (HOST), and/or Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) experience desired
  
• Experience in modeling avionics and real time systems desired

Security Clearance
