BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking Mental Health Technicians to join our outstanding and compassionate team at Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center in Lutz.
Morton Plant North Bay Hospital Recovery Center, part of BayCare Health System, is a 72-bed inpatient psychiatric unit that offers 24-hour nursing care for adults dealing with behavioral disorders and addictions. Our experienced team is comprised of psychiatrists, social workers, registered nurses, case managers and mental health technicians. Morton Plant North Bay Hospital Recovery Center is the only freestanding Baker Act-receiving private psychiatric hospital in Pasco County.

- Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and well-being.
- Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Assists with physical care under the direction of a RN.
- Promotes coordination of the unit by completing orders, making phone calls, and directing calls and information to the charge nurse.

Qualifications:
Required Certifications and Licensures:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
- Patient Care Technician - preferred
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor's in a related field in lieu of experience
- Associate's in a related field - Preferred
- Associate's in Psychology - Preferred
Experience:
- 6 months Psychology
- Or 6 months Medical Technician
- Or 6 months Paramedics
- 1 year unit secretary - preferred
