Job Description: Bigfork Valley Hospital (Bigfork, MN) is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. The laboratory team provides 24/7 support to the hospital and surrounding clinics. We are a highly complex CLIA certified laboratory including Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Molecular testing.

MLT’s are responsible for:

Obtaining, processing, and analyzing blood and body fluid specimens. Performing maintenance tasks, quality controls, calibrations, linearity studies, and troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation. Working independently following laboratory policies and procedures. Reporting and recording results accurately and in a timely manner. Effectively communicate with co-workers, providers, and nursing staff to include testing requirements and critical result reporting. Maintain a safe, clean, and well stocked working environment according to Bigfork Valley policy.

This position is full time day shift with overnight call (5:30pm-6:00am) and every 4thweekend.

(Typically, 3 weeknights and 1 weekend of call in 4 weeks’ time)

Education: Associates Degree from an Accredited MLT program required. 12 months of experience preferred. MLT certification from ASCP or equivalent required or needs to be certified within 6 months of hire date.
