Job Description:

  • Reporting to Performance Tooling Engineering Director, under the direction of the Diamond Products Engineering Team Lead, activities are related to new product development and current product maintenance, including engineering analyses and design validation, CAD design documentation & specifications, product field and lab testing, prototype builds, and general technical product support to cross functions and to services operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively in a team environment interacting with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, sourcing engineers and suppliers, product line managers, and drilling services operations office and field staff
  • Apply engineering theory, principles, and emerging materials technologies to improve or develop drilling technologies, primarily related to impregnated diamond drilling products
  • Estimates engineering resources and timing, plans, conducts, and manages engineering projects, working with other engineers and coordinating with other business functions and divisions.
  • Develop and document engineering DFMEA, KPC, CAD designs, material and manufacturing process specifications
  • Develop and document controlled and field testing and complete detailed DVPR reports (design validation)
  • Technical support and product troubleshooting and technical investigations for other business functions and divisions

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Materials or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • English language proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Results oriented
  • Flexible to occasional travel including international travel
  • Flexible to occasional drill site visits & field testing
  • Preferred experience: powder metallurgy & related heat treatment or process engineering

synthetic diamonds & related processing or applications engineering
CAD modeling, FEA & CFD experience
CAD standards, geometric tolerancing, tolerance stacking, DFMEA and KPC development.
DOE & statistical analyses related to technology & product development
Laboratory and/or test equipment set-up and operation
Multi-stage product development project engineering
