Cornerstone Treatment Facility Network is a respected leader and innovator in the chemical dependency treatment field for more than 25 years. We are seeking to fill a full-time Managed Care Coordinator to work at our facility located in Fresh Meadows, Queens New York.
Responsibilities include but not limited to as follows:
- Performs telephone screenings for patients who call for admission, using the pre-screening format.
- Answers inquiries regarding insurance coverage.
- Call insurance/managed care companies to verify patient’s eligibility for detox, rehab and obtain proper authorization for the admission.
- Update bed status with Vice President and/or Manager.
- Assist in the transfer of patients to other hospitals or agencies when indicated.
- Keep management informed regarding changing conditions of issues with patient admission/authorization.
- Document all patient authorization and denial data into ECR and HMS
- Perform and document all concurrent reviews
- Schedule and inform admitting providers of MD to MD reviews. Document same in ECR
- Every Friday, compile and distribute weekend discharges and aftercare disposition.
- Obtain and document authorization for RBK transfers. Communicate same to counseling staff
- Perform related activities as delegated or required.
- Attend weekly clinical meetings
- Enter all changes regarding discharge dates into HMS
- Document in ECR when patient was seen and when case was called in
- Appeal all denials upon admission and/all post discharge
Qualifications:
- Two years experience with insurance/managed care companies
- College graduate, in lieu of degree, 5 years managed care experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills required.
