POSITION: Maintenance Planner

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Facilitator
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SUPERVISES: -

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initiates and leads manufacturing continuous improvement activities to meet and exceed specific measurable goals for department safety, quality, and productivity.

 Strong PC skills, including Windows, Word, Visio, Excel, Access and Project.

 Plans maintenance work including construction, major maintenance, and routine maintenance.
Maximizes Equipment Availability and the efficiency of the maintenance workforce.

 Orders material through system and assembles parts into ready kits for jobs.

 Writes job plans for assigned projects, optimizes inventory investment and supports production goals. Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.

 Coordinates supplies and technical information and schedules work with available manpower and production/QA demands for the most effective completion of jobs.

 Reports and maintains cost control and other key performance metrics.

 Analyzes and reviews short and long term maintenance program performance.

 Continuously improves parts descriptions and job plans with research and feedback

 Reviews work order requests and visits job sites to determine job feasibility & requirements.
Confers with requestors & supervisors to determine status of projects.

 Plans workflow for assigned areas according to supervisor direction, lead-times, and established maintenance & manufacturing practices. Plans spare parts repairs.

 Minimizes production equipment down time by maximizing planned maintenance activities.
Facilitates the weekly planning/scheduling meeting with Maintenance Supervisors and Production stakeholders.

 Creates weekly maintenance work schedule and manages work backlog. Expedites constraints that delay schedules; alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

 Oversees CMMS data integrity and work order control; address trains others.

 Maintains technical library of OEM & other manuals. Establishes PMs/PdMs.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION A two-year degree (technical field) or higher is required. Equivalent work experience will be considered in place of two-year degree in technical field.

EXPERIENCE This individual will possess:

 A minimum of 5 years previous experience planning in industry.

 Minimum 3 years of experience working with the CMMS (Maximo preferred).

 Proven ability to work in teams, including training and facilitation.

 High level of attention to detail, demonstrated by project successes.

 Significant knowledge of good maintenance practices grounded in experience

 Familiarity with prints and ability to sketch out basic job illustrations

 Strong PC skills, including Windows, Word, Visio, Excel, Access and Project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Approximately 60% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 40% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to hot metal, operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
