Core Construction & Development is seeking a motivated, hands-on Registered Professional Surveyor in good standing for our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing reliable and accurate land surveying services for existing and future job sites. This includes preparing legal descriptions and maps, Easement/Right-of-Way Surveys, Plats ALTA s, boundaries, property descriptions, and topographic surveys. The Registered Professional Surveyor is responsible for all field layouts and as-builts on assigned projects. Work conditions include walking long distances while carrying up to 40 pounds of equipment and working in all weather conditions for 8-10 hours a day.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard surveying techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
• Preparation of boundary and topographical surveys, project control, metes and bounds descriptions, and general survey support.
• Work directly with the Project Managers and Superintendents regarding initial project layout requirements, means and methods of establishing project survey control, and field reporting.
• Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the project estimates and begin to assist in quantifying the impact.
• Coordinate Field Crews in the collection and calculation of field data.
• Data Processing
• Perform research, field investigations, and project boundary calculations.
• Define applicable scope(s) of work based on project requirements.
• Provide technical and operational guidance/advice to project teams and on-site representatives.
• Writes, directs, and/or reviews the project documentation to satisfy legal requirements.
• Knowledge of construction staking and GPS experience
• Operate all types of survey equipment including GPS and SCS900 software, Total Station, and Level.
• Perform site setup activities, i.e., site calibration, level runs, and control checks.
• Perform all layout calculations in the data collector, i.e., Station/Offset, Distances, and Grading.
• Keep detailed field notes.
• Work independently when performing field layout.
• Transfer files between field and office.
• Utilize Topcon survey equipment and software including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and manage Machine Control equipment.
• Performs duties with some complexity under general supervision.
• Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications.

Qualifications:

• 7- 10 years of construction-related experience required
• Knowledge of survey grade GPS and SCS900 software as well as other survey equipment
• Basic CAD skills
• 7+ years of experience with Boundary/Topo, construction calculations, preparation of right-of-way acquisitions and easements, ALTA/ACSM (NSPS) Land Title Surveys, and AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Software
• Must possess a current Florida Registered Professional Surveyor License

Pay: $91,508.13 - $99,404.84 per year
