Fellows Irrigation is searching for a new Irrigation Technician to add to our team! We have provided irrigation services to McKinney, TX and surrounding areas since 1992. Duties and Responsibilities

1. Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated.

2. Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.

3. Repairs broken pipes, sprinkler heads, valves, etc.

4. May assist in various maintenance activities as required.

5. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

6. Stock service truck with proper parts and tools for servicing lawn sprinkler.

7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

8. Troubleshoot and repair commercial and residential lawn sprinkler systems.

9. Evaluate lawn sprinkler systems and report conditions to owner.

10. Provide suggestions and pricing to owner to upgrade lawn sprinkler to be efficient in water use.

11. Stock service truck with proper parts and tools for servicing lawn sprinkler.

12. Properly complete invoicing on work performed

13. Process and collect payment for work performed

14. Oversee and coordinate maintenance of equipment trucks and tools.

15. Oversee job site safety

Minimum Job Requirements

· High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred but not required

· Clean driving record with valid Texas driver license.

· Motivated self-starter, good communication skills.

· Motivated to grow with an established irrigation company.

· Good organization skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

· Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

· Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers, digging/trenching, repairing pipes and broken sprinkler items, etc.

· Basic understanding of computer systems and technology

· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

· Ability to speak Spanish preferred

Distinguishing Characteristics

Position requires:

a) Operating electrical and plumbing components such as timers, clocks, sprinkler controls, valves, and other accessories.

b) turning irrigation systems off and on,

c) operating various digging and irrigating tools and equipment.

Conditions of Employment

· A valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record is required

· Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

· Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

· Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds, and digging/trenching in the ground and hard soils.

· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Benefits and Compensation

· Salary range for this position is $17- $25 per hour. The higher level of experience, the higher the pay.
