Full-time and Part-time positions available on our behavioral health inpatient unit at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
Providing a vast continuum of behavioral health care, including outpatient, primary care office, intensive outpatient, inpatient psychiatry, crisis center, and the emergency department, you will be able to thrive and grow professionally with our strong leadership team.
Our Psychiatric Inpatient Registered Nurses perform a wide range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and needs, in accordance with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan (ITP) for a population of acutely ill adult psychiatric patients who range from 18 years of age to geriatric. Registered nurses administer medical treatment as prescribed by the attending psychiatrist or advanced practice provider and are responsible for teaching and providing support to patients including but not limited to disease education, medication education, supportive engagement, facilitation of psychoeducational groups and safety planning. De-escalation ability and management of disruptive behaviors are key aspects of the psychiatric registered nurse role. RNs also delegate to and coordinate with behavioral health nursing support staff – behavioral health associates, patient care technicians, milieu assistants, and patient safety companions.
Education: Associates degree in nursing required with licensure by MBON; Bachelor’s degree in nursing and/or ANCC licensure as a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse appreciated.
Experience:
· Current knowledge of recovery-oriented care and trauma-informed care preferred.
· Certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
· Experience in the field of behavioral health strongly suggested.
· One year of acute general hospital experience highly recommended.
· Nurse Residency Program available for new graduates.
