JOB TITLE: Human Resources (HR) Manager
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
LOCATION: Fulton, Kentucky
FLSA STATUS : Salary Exempt
REPORTS TO : Human Resources Director
PURPOSE: Responsible for the overall administration, coordination, evaluation and implementation of the Human Resources function. Responsible for the consistent application and legal adherence to all laws, policies and regulations that pertain to the successful management of the work force and incorporate the goals of high retention, profitability and satisfying work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the HR Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Exemplifies the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
- Embodies commitment for a safe workplace, and acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities, and communication Responsible for assisting plant management in implementing safety programs and educating associates about safety.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining plant associate records and reports; ensures compliance with all associate regulations regarding associate files; establishes and maintains security/confidentiality of associate data.
- Responsible for managing the recruitment effort for all plant associates; oversees new associate orientations; implements and monitors career path program, associate relations counseling, and exit interviews; oversees the writing and posting of recruiting advertisements.
- Acts as Management’s liaison with the workforce and fosters ongoing excellent associate/management relations; recommends common sense and equitable solutions to associate problems; anticipates and advises management of potential associate related problems.
- Responsible for promoting and maintaining equal employment opportunity in the workforce on a regular and consistent basis; stays abreast of EEO regulatory changes and monitors the work place for deviations and/or EEO related problems.
- Supervises Human Resources staff, as necessary; provides training and development opportunities for all levels of associates.
- Responsible for applying Federal, State and Local government procedures, policies, guidelines, rules and regulations as instructed by corporate.
- Oversee attendance program for hourly associates.
- Responsible for maintaining bulletin boards throughout the building and ensure information is transmitted in a timely fashion.
- Oversee payroll for plant associates.
- Responsible for coordinating discipline issues and obtain corporate approval for terminations.
- Perform other special projects as assigned by manager.
EDUCATIONAL, SKILL, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Human Resources experience 5-7 years including: overall understanding of the broad Human Resources functions, policies, products, and services.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Social Sciences. Master’s degree preferred.
- Associates degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Strong communication skills: oral and written. Ability to work effectively with all levels of associates.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Power Point
