HSE Coordinator Job at SAINT JEAN INDUSTRIES, INC.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain Quality records per inspection instructions and procedures and as required by IATF-16949.
- Coordinate with Quality Manager on the HSE budget.
- Creating and/or modifying procedures and written programs which ensure the continued safety and health of staff, risk mitigation, emergency plans, etc
- Create and modify compliance calendar items and monitor adherence to the schedule.
- Defines and audits facility in accordance with ISO14001, OSHA, and all other prescribed requirements per schedule established by management.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety and government regulations.
- Reports all nonconformance items to management for corrective action.
- Ensures organizations and authorities are continually informed, according to the needs of the company, the progress of improvement plans (8d) up to final approval.
- Emphasizes prevention, not correction using PDCA/8D.
- Governmental reporting as required (Tier II, TRI, Waste Water, etc)
- Manages hazardous and non-hazardous waste and reporting results.
- Evaporator building and the daily production demands required to burn off all appropriate liquids.
- DOT authorized training and validation of materials shipped from facility.
- Ensure air permit is relevant and updated as required.
- Ensure LOTO process is relevant and reviewed/updated as required.
- Investigate accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Accident reporting.
- Reports and manages all workers compensation claims.
- Establish and conduct new team member orientation for safety and environmental.
- Defines and audits facility for 5S per schedule established by management.
- Coordination, performing, and reporting the results from 5-S Audits
- Assessing and bringing attention to potential safety and environmental concerns. Managing actions to continually improve.
- Emergency / evacuation drills and evaluation of effectiveness of warnings.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Five years experience in safety and/or environmental
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail
- Clear understanding of internal and external requirements as they relate to safety and environmental
- Well-rounded knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Problem solving
- Internal Auditing
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Active Listening, Reading Comprehension, Instruction, Integrity, Autonomy.
