Global Director – EHS
The Global Director of EHS is responsible for developing and implementing safety and environmental standards, policies, procedures, training programs and KPI’s for Momentive’s workforce and work environment. This role must conduct/facilitate regular inspections for all our plants in North America, and coordinate with respective EHS leaders and plant managers for other global sites. The Global Director of EHS plays a vital role in helping Momentive reduce our impact on the environment amid ever changing legislation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the education and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Manage all compliance activities such as audits and documentation for regulatory agencies such as DHS, OSHA, and EPA.
- Responsible for internal and external safety audits, including documentation, recommendations, and tracking/resolving of major and minor non-conformities.
- Ensure alignment of health and safety standards, policies, procedures, and best practices across all sites globally.
- Analyze and report on health and safety data and KPI trends.
- Oversee budget for all areas of EHS including process safety management, occupational health, Gensuite, and external third parties.
- Provide leadership and guidance on for product stewardship related activities.
- Lead the safety teams at individual facilities and participate as required in the EHS assessment program.
- Lead global safety council and ELIR forums to drive EHS best practices across all sites, and promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Provide health and safety support to NPI, commercial, engineering, and maintenance projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, chemistry, environmental engineering, or related field.
- OSHA certified.
- 10+ years’ experience with EHS and 5+ years' in a manufacturing company.
- Proven capability leading and managing comprehensive auditing in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to gain the trust at all levels of an organization.
- Strong technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline.
Key Relationships:
- Reports to the Vice President of Global Operations.
- Global Site EHS Leaders, EHS Generalist, Director Global Continuous Improvement, Global Quality Leader, NPI teams, Plant Engineering teams.
Travel Requirements:
- 10%
