Kennedys, a growing global law firm, seeks a Financial Analyst to join its US Finance department. This role will be based in our US headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

This position is responsible for contributing to the effectiveness of the Finance department by assisting the US Finance Director, and liaising with the UK Financial Reporting team, to provide comprehensive and efficient financial reporting to internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will be a goal-orientated, self-motivated multitasker with a flexible attitude towards working practices and the ability to adapt style as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aide in preparation of monthly performance reports
  • Prepare and issue team and client specific reports
  • Assist with cash flow modeling (both short term and long term) and forecasting, including, but not limited to, bank covenant projections and regular reporting on forecasts against actual
  • Produce analytics to assist the firm with its pricing strategy
  • Complete financial and statistical reports and returns, both internally and for external surveys, bids and tenders
  • Calculate cost rates for fee earners
  • Prepare reports such as top 20 clients, client/matter/work type profitability
  • Prepare annual budgets and half year reforecasts
  • Supply data and reports to the Americas Business Services Managers
  • Ensure the accuracy of information and ensure it is published in a timely manner
  • Assist with projects that arise within the department and the wider firm

Required experience

  • 2 years of financial analysis experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency creating and utilizing Pivot Tables and macros
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a deadline focused role within a busy Finance department
  • Law firm experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E preferred
  • Experience with pricing models and project costing preferred
  • Experience appraising and validating financial models preferred
