Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time Federal Pursuit Manager to join our Marketing team in Denver, CO. The pursuit manager is responsible for managing all phases of the company’s pursuit process and oversees all pursuit activities to develop RFP-compliant, competitive, and quality marketing materials, proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations.
Required Skills
Following Wilson & Company’s pursuit development process, using a consistent set of pursuit tools, and applying best practice/issue, solution, benefit, proof (ISBP) principles, take full ownership and leadership of pursuit team efforts to develop proposals, presentations, and supporting materials and campaigns; facilitate strategy discussions; and deliver compliant, clear, and compelling pursuits. Specific tasks include:
- Will focus efforts supporting the growing federal group but will also support all divisions throughout Wilson & Company as needed.
- Promotes and participates in all aspects of the pursuit capture activities
- Ensure pursuits are accurately tracked through Vantagepoint pipeline.
- Plan, schedule, budget, outline, and lead storyboard and text development, management reviews, and proposal production, using pursuit management planning tools.
- Oversee and keep pursuit schedule and budget.
- Assemble appropriate, and coordinate communication between authors, section and volume leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other support personnel to successfully develop a proposal, presentation, or other supporting materials.
- Lead the development and application of proposal/presentation themes through storyboarding and strategy meetings.
- Develop an organization chart with capture manager, project manager, and pursuit team.
- Lead teams through strategic reviews (pink, red, green, gold, and IQR).
- Provide high-impact, compelling writing on sections of the proposal and customize projects, resumes, and other text to be tailored to the client/pursuit objectives incorporating best practice/ISBP principles.
- Coordinate proposal information with subconsultants.
- Lead internal lessons learned debriefs.
- Attend and/or ensure project manager conducts a client debrief; capture information in Vantagepoint record.
- Perform research and interview staff to help write/translate complex concepts into a narrative that can be understood by non-technical readers.
- Identify weaknesses in a document and creative ways to improve.
- Coordinate all graphics and document layout through the graphic artists.
- Perform edit on near-final draft.
- May produce, package and track the proposal for delivery, ensuring that the proposal submission deadlines are always achieved.
- Lead development of presentations and coordinate any leave-behind materials with the graphic artists.
- Ensure the proposal closeout process is complete.
- Conduct pink, red, gold, and IQRs.
- Work with pursuit team to develop project capture plan, pursuit strategy, marketing campaigns, and capture ISBP.
- May Mentor assigned pursuit staff, including technical staff, proposal coordinators, and content specialists, by advising on and reviewing proposal management plans, schedules, outlines, compliance, matrices and storyboards, proposal process, and strategy.
- May function as capture manager for strategic and/or HIP pursuits.
- Support work-sharing to balance workloads.
- May establish staff performance goals and objectives commensurate with market goals.
- May participate in developing strategic client account management plans.
- Assist in developing press releases or communications for project wins, milestones, completions, awards, strategic new hires, and employee awards.
- Work with corporate communications to assist in developing and maintaining marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, presentations, project layout sheets, and print-on-demand sheets using corporate guidelines.
- May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related major, plus seven years’ experience within the firm or in a similar technical/marketing environment.
- Without a degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required in addition to appropriate knowledge and skills leading proposals in the industry.
- Experience leading federal pursuit responses.
- Complete understanding of the pursuit lifecycle and experience leading pursuit responses – the larger and more complex, the more experience required.
- Experience managing teams to deliver by established deadlines.
Annual Salary range: $72,000.00 - $98,000.00
