Perritt Farms has four openings for farm workers for temporary, full-time employment. Farm

Workers and Laborers: Workers will assist in the daily operations of harvesting corn, cotton, sorghum, and soybean. Maintain crops to ensure proper growth and yields are free of any disease that can cause harm to the crops. They will transport and harvest corn, cotton, soybeans, and sorghum using trucks, combines and other equipment used in harvesting operations. Employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm; depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required. Workers are needed to begin work from

02/01/2023 through 11/15/2023. Work will be performed on the farm in St. Joseph, LA, and the surrounding areas. The farms have three locations. One farm is in Jonesville, LA, Catahoula

Parish County, 31.62625 N and 9184946 E off Delta Gin Road. The second farm is in Tensas

Parish County, 31.803 N and 91384 E west of Highway 65 1296 Saint Joseph, LA.

Workers will be paid no less than $12.45p/hour; returning workers with more experience may be paid a higher wage rate. The worker is guaranteed to be paid at a minimum ¾ of the contract.

The employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of

employment. The transportation payment or reimbursement amount will equal the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Housing will be provided at no cost to the worker. Daily meals will be provided at least $14.00 p/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 p/day with receipts. Workers will be equipped with convenient cooking facilities to prepare meals. The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Workers will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visas, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government.
