Our organization is seeking a Full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician-Driver with the corresponding education/experience requirements:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates would be responsible for daily work orders and coordinating with outside contractors to ensure work and repair orders are completed in a timely fashion. Technician candidates must have the ability to handle a physical workload. Assist with transporting individuals within Wayne County, in addition to BFDI treatment staff, for the purpose of making neighborhood-level prevention, treatment, and crisis intervention accessible to residents, all while ensuring the safety of the passengers and the safe operation of the vehicle. Provides general cleaning and maintenance of agency facilities and vehicle(s). Clinic operation hours will be 7 am to 8 pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Facilities Maintenance Technician
- Provides general repair and maintenance of agency facilities property.
- Organize, prioritize and complete agency work orders to ensure they are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in ordering parts and materials.
- Light plumbing and electrical.
- Troubleshoot and Maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, or other facility systems.
- Drywall repair and Carpentry
- Maintain grounds and curb appeal.
- Adheres to the daily work schedule as assigned.
- Maintains and adheres to confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Works flexible schedule as assigned by supervisor.
- Participates as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
- Attends staff meetings as identified by supervisor.
- Adheres to all state regulatory laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
VAN DRIVER
- Responsible for the safe and timely transport of consumers and treatment staff to scheduled meetings and appointments within and throughout Detroit/Wayne County.
- Monitors and processes assignments and reviews transportation log to ensure the timely transport of customers to and from appointments and meetings.
- Maintains orderly conduct among persons on the van during transport.
- Inspects and reports any vehicle maintenance problems, and requisitions for needed repairs.
- Ensures proper motor vehicle maintenance to certify the safe operation of the vehicle for customer/client safety.
- Maintains general upkeep of vehicle (s); cleans interior and exterior regularly.
- Maintains an accurate record of expenses and submits required reports and receipts.
- Maintains mileage log pertaining to the transportation of clients or any agency business.
- Provides messenger/courier services as requested by BFDI administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in construction, facility maintenance or other related fields. Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment, prefer candidates to have their own tools. Ability to handle physical workload. High school diploma; must meet or have valid Michigan drivers/chauffeurs license, and all state clearances; knowledgeable of the geographic area in which the consumers reside; good driving record; good communication skills; at least two (2) years experience in skilled trades and maintenance fields; plumbing, electrical, HVAC, minor painting, drywall repair and carpentry; basic tools needed; knowledge and experience with parts orders; furnace experience; positive attitude; ability to support and contribute to the team; ability to work flexible work schedule.
