RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking and Electrical Engineers to work from our customers facility in Bloomington, MN. As a part of the team, qualified candidates will work on development efforts for complex products in the off-highway/off-road mobile equipment industry.

This position is associated with the design and development of new electronic components. Testing methods include bench testing, computer simulation testing, and machine testing.

Job responsibilities include:

• Develop design concepts for circuits and systems, involving analog and digital design techniques and interface sensors with microcontrollers/microprocessors
• Perform engineering analysis to predict the behavior of the proposed designs
• Develop and de-bug circuit prototypes to demonstrate compliance with specifications
• Define measurement techniques, tuning procedures, and special test fixtures for production use
• Prepare compliance and production documentation
• Leads design activities for a project and coordinates design activities with other personnel where appropriate including the flow of information and documentation to other departments
• Provide expertise for a particular product line, product technology or design area and gives guidance to others working on designs in this area
• Meets or exceed typical expectations for creativity, productivity, quality, and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree/experience.
• 5 years of experience developing electrical, electronic and controls systems.
• Experience with C/C++ programming languages
• Experience on the selection and use of 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers
• Ability to interpret hardware schematics for wiring and electronic controllers
• Self-motivated, quick learner, with an any-problem-can-be-solved attitude
• Strong mathematical and analytical problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment

Desired Attributes

• General machine knowledge of industrial equipment or machinery
• Experience with CAN J1939 communication protocol
• Experience with Simulink Model Based Software Design
• Ability to interpret software requirements and state diagrams
• Experience with Rally or Jira software tracking tools or similar tools
• Experience with CAN sniffers or similar tools to troubleshoot communications
