Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking a Electrical Engineer in our Kennesaw, GA (HQ), FT Worth, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Chattanooga, TN, Idaho Falls, ID, Birmingham, AL, or Naperville, IL location. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and innovative team to evaluate and design power systems at power generating facilities.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and is able to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors.
- Prepare design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates.
- Make recommendations based on knowledge and experience.
- Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects.
- Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
- Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
- Devise new approaches to technical problems. Broad knowledge of precedents in the industry.
Required qualifications / skills:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 4 years’ with power system design experience.
- Experience in electrical codes, standards and criteria for power systems.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
- Willing to travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up.
- Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Position may involve a client site assignment lasting several months at a time.
Preferred Qualifications / skills:
- Experience with Electrical analysis software such as ETAP or SKM.
- Ability to gain and maintain DOE L or Q Clearance.
- Experience supporting projects for the federal government (DOE, DOD, etc)
- Experience and/or field experience working under an NQA-1 or ISO9001 Program.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations
- Nuclear power plant experience
- Prior power system design experience at power plants or utility substations
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations
- Experience with Electrical analysis software such as ETAP or SKM
Employment requirement:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
- Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites
