We are currently hiring a Direct Support Professionals to work within our group homes located throughout the north shore. Direct Support professionals help the individuals we serve live inclusive and independent lives in their homes and community.
No Experience is required and flexible full time, part time and per diem schedules are available.
**For a limited time, full time hires may qualify for $600 sign-on bonus**
Job Summary: To provide quality living supports and be responsive to individuals living in residential programs or independently. Teach, support and facilitate choices for people in their homes and within their communities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Direct Care and support the clinical and social needs of the individuals receiving services.
- Document accurately and thoroughly including in Inter-Team Communication Logs, ISP documentation, incident reporting Health Records, Daily Data Books and Fire Drill Logs as outlined in Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures.
- Must be comfortable with providing total personal care and providing other daily living skill supports as needed.
- Provide hands-on support at the home, including individualized supports in transferring, bathing and grooming, and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
- Demonstrate and implement knowledge of Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures, including Code of Conduct and Residential Division Standards as well as funding source regulations. Follow emergency procedures and on call beeper systems.
- Ensure that the human, civil and legal rights of all individuals are protected. Follow DPPC and mandated reporting guidelines. Teach and promote dignity and reasonable risk with individuals.
- Administer medications according to the Northeast Arc Policies and Procedures and MAPs regulations. Support Drs appointments, ER and hospital visits and contact on-call nursing appropriately.
- Facilitate meaningful community experiences for each individual that fosters skill acquisition, relationship building and independence.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following Universal Precautions, ensuring that emergency exits are clear and accessible at all times and maintaining staffing ratios as outlined in contracts with funding agencies and security of the group home during overnight hours.
Requirements:
- Passion to work for a mission based organization.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, a plus, but not necessary.
- Valid driver's license.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Obtain and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and medication administration. (not required)

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr. + depends on experience and certifications

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
