Desktop Support Technician Job at Retina Consultants of Minnesota
We are seeking an experienced, hard working, and passionate individual to work as a Desktop Support Technician at our Edina, MN clinic.
The Desktop Support Technician's role is to support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. That includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware, software, and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide expert level support of all desktop and network hardware and software applications over the phone, remote and onsite to clients and co-workers.
- Identify network problems involving desktop or laptop computers.
- Manage accurate inventory of desktop hardware.
- Configure desktop hardware and software for new and existing users.
- Resolve moderate end-user hardware/software problems including remote access software.
- Resolve technical problems with desktop equipment and software.
- Maintain desktop software and hardware and also support mobile workforce.
- Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades on desktop hardware and software.
- Install new hardware, software, and upgrades on desktop computers and laptops.
- Customize desktop applications to meet user needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software problems and needs.
- Answer requests from clients over multiple communication channels.
- Manage time and scheduling with clients and co-workers.
- Plan and execute client work and projects.
- Perform routine support for Windows, Mobile Devices, Networking and Wireless Devices.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with senior level technicians to be able to reach out for assistance when needed.
- Follow documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills, Abilities and Attributes include:
- Previous experience as a Level 2 Desktop Support professional with at least 2-3 years of previous industry experience.
- A+ Certification preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, strong technical background, and a desire to grow is a must.
- Desire to learn new IT systems and skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to other Minnesota sites as needed.

Pay: $23.00 - $33.00 per hour
