Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Custodial Services Worker Senior serves as the on-site working supervisor for the Custodial Services Department on the Parham Road Campus, directing the work activities of the custodial services staff. Duties include: training staff, performing supply and equipment inventory, moving furniture and performing special set-ups; and performing general housekeeping functions.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.



KSA's/Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of cleaning methods; use of cleaning supplies and equipment; and proper safety techniques related to housekeeping operations. Considerable demonstrated skill in the use of buffers, burnishers, wet and dry vacuums and other housekeeping equipment; and in stripping, waxing, buffing floors and shampooing carpets (dry and wet methods). Demonstrated ability to direct the work of others. Demonstrated ability to function independently and to give and receive both written and oral instructions. Ability to lift and move heavy objects; stand for extended periods of time; and to tolerate contact with a variety of cleaning products and solutions. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience in the day-to-day housekeeping operations of a school or institution type setting is preferred. Current or recent supervisory experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is also preferred.
