Position: Bilingual Medical Assistant
Reports to: Site Manager
Job Summary
Administers patient care to designated patients under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Performs a variety of indirect patient care duties. Participates in the planning and evaluation of patient care and patient education.
Position Requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an exemption with current employor.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant.
- Must have basic clinic or medical office experience.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Computer and office equipment knowledge.
Restrictions
- May not undertake any procedure not trained in.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview patients to obtain medical information, collect vital signs, weight, and height.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the provider.
- Record patient’s medical history, vital statistics, mediation, and information such as test results and medical information and records.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Explain treatment, procedures, diets, and any instructions under the direction of the provider.
- Assist the provider to examine and treat patients; preparing instruments and materials.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the room neat and clean.
- Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated materials.
- Schedule appointments for patients regarding follow-up and referrals.
- Perform general office duties such as answering telephones and documenting patient calls and messages.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses; prepare samples for retrieval from outside lab services.
- Operate EKG and other medical equipment as directed by a provider.
- Is familiar with the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care.
- Works with provider/care team to ensure appropriate PCMH documentation is completed in medical charts such as care management goals/follow-up, quality measures, and care coordination efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
