The Business Development (BD) position is an outside sales role primarily focused on direct selling Hardscape/Landscape installation, drainage, retaining walls, outdoor living construction and design services. The BD will manage the overall sales process for both direct and indirect opportunities, with a primary focus on closing opportunities. There will be internal and external lead generation support as well as any other third party or channel relationships. The BD will be responsible to sell an annualized revenue target and generate a portion of their overall on-target-earnings from commission. To be successful in this role, the BD will possess the following knowledge and skills and will have demonstrated the ability to perform the various tasks and responsibilities listed below.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Horticulture/Design degree preferred (High school or GED equivalent minimum required)
- Must have 10 years of outside sales experience in the landscape industry where 100% quota was attained in at least 8 of those years
- Proficient with landscape design and planning
- Landscape management software experience preferred
- Successful achievement of closing large deals and carrying a million-dollar quota
Responsibilities:
- Develop a plan to sell new and existing clients
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
- Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
- Prepare sales proposals and contracts according to company guidelines
- Work within company identified sales processes using technology to accurately keep records of sales details including, communications, revenue, contacts and other relevant data.
- Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
- Communicate needed information to operational team
- Attending association meetings, shows or other industry events on behalf of company as needed
- Traveling to meet with opportunities within a geographic region
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline with multiple accounts and partners

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,333.90 - $96,479.37 per year
