We're hiring Basketball Referees for the Buda, Dripping Springs, and Central Austin areas! Under the general guidance of the Regional Sports Director, the referee prepares, facilitates, and evaluates programming activities to ensure a positive experience for all. We're looking for individuals that can work occasional weekdays and officiate games on the weekends.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

What are the details?

• Interpret and enforce the rules of the game according to YMCA Youth/Adults Sports philosophy.
• Attend all Sports staff meetings as required.
• Render first aid as needed and complete and fill out the required documentation.
• Arrive at the game site 30 minutes prior to the game.
• Assist facility supervisor in setting up and taking down fields/courts.
• Distribute information or equipment as requested by the facility supervisor.
• Check the play area for hazards prior to the start of each game.
• Enforce any rules specified for the use of the facilities as needed.

What you bring to the Purpose:

• Education and Experience:
  • You are a minimum age of 16 years old and have knowledge of the rules of the sport(s) to be officiated.
  • Certification as an official is a plus.
  • You have current CPR and First Aid certifications which must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

• You are organized and productive. You are organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
