We are an internal Brand Design team who takes responsibility and ownership in creating high-caliber creative for a beloved brand. We are here to provide design solutions for many different audiences through a variety of brand expressions.
What you will do.
The Assoc. Creative Manager is the indispensable right hand of the Creative Director, as an expert and leader of the brand at Tillamook. They will over-see and review internal creative work; manage and creatively inspire internal designers; and direct agency partners to ensure all creative design development for Tillamook has a consistent voice, tone, and visual direction. They will also be responsible for reviewing and approving design development for Corporate Communications, Stewardship, Foodservice/Sales, People and Culture and Direct Commerce, as a consultant and brand steward.
The ideal candidate has:
· A strong portfolio of diverse and relevant packaging and branding work.
· Can manage and thrive in ambiguity and is self-motivated.
· Willingness to adapt when tasks, projects and dates change at any time.
· Extremely organized and a master of juggling multiple projects at once.
· Ability to produce quality work by the deadline in a fast-paced environment.
· A strong understanding in developing a visual language for a brand across multiple touchpoints.
· Master at providing exceptional copy and art direction.
· Exceptional brief writing skills that have a clear strategic vision and POV
· Capable of self-managing, is motivated and has an entrepreneurial outlook.
· Ability to deliver and take constructive feedback gracefully.
· Outstanding verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
· A people leader, adept at listening, guiding and motivating designers.
· Proactive at communications with internal and cross-functional groups as the champion of the Tillamook brand
· Strong knowledge of current packaging and consumer trends, design, communications and photography, and their application to the food industry and grocery
Here’s a day in the life.
The Assoc. Creative Manager will either act as the creative lead and drive the creative strategy, art direction, messaging, and design development or act as a consultant for the cross-functional functions mentioned above, depending on the scope of the project.
20% - Develop briefs that define creative strategy for design, copywriting and photography with clear direction, vision, and expectations. “Consultant” working with internal teams from other departments to help inform the brief and review the creative that other agencies develop to ensure the work is at our brand standards.
40% - Define and continuously evolve visual identity systems and visual centers/guidelines for Tillamook Brand Identity, Packaging, Foodservice/Sales, Direct Commerce, Stewardship, Corporate Communications, People + Culture.
25% - Designing + art direction (stills/photoshoots)
15% - Provide on-going strategic feedback to internal designers and external agency partners. Reviewing, mentoring, guiding other designer’s work which will include packaging.
Skills you’ll need:
Education Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent
Experience 10+ years of packaging CPG design experience in-house or agency
Workfront experience is a plus
