Job Description
The Trading Applications Support within the Brookfield Public Securities Group’s (PSG) business applications team is responsible for providing application support for Brookfield BHS Advisors. The platform includes a combination of proprietary and third-party applications like FlexTrade OMS / EMS, IVP data warehouse, Advent Geneva, upstream-downstream data feeds as well as several others. The role includes engaging end-users with their business application requests and issues, managing and resolving issues by working with vendors and other internal teams, developing, and executing test plans, and documenting application requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, an inquisitive nature, a passion for excellent service, the ability to take initiative and be resourceful.
Key Responsibilities:

Communication - Work closely with vendors, end-users, and business partners in investment and operational teams to resolve issues and test resolutions. Ability to understand, articulate and document business requirements

Problem-Solving - Perform root cause analysis and seek solutions by examining issues and ideas through inquiry, analysis, dialogue, and evaluation

Teamwork - Ability to work with others to resolve issues when needed and work together to attain the best outcomes

Data Analysis - Analyze data using Excel or SQL to determine the root cause of issues and resolution

Attention to Detail – Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and completeness

Initiative - Identify and advocate for improvements and efficiencies that can be made to the existing platform

Business Application Knowledge - Develop understanding of the applications under business application support purview. Transform the knowledge to better support the users

Willingness and ability to learn support processes and applications

Must be available to provide support in the early morning, some evenings and some weekends
Qualifications & Requirements:
-
3-5 years of application support experience at an asset management, hedge fund, or proprietary trading firm
-
Experience working directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers and Operations to resolve application issues with their trade capture/order entry is required

Knowledge of financial instruments: Equities, Fixed income, Swaps
-
Understanding of trade life cycle
-
Experience troubleshooting and isolating application issues for internal or external resolution as needed then developing and executing test plans to verify solutions and writing change requests to deploy solutions

Experience supporting Flextrade, Eze, or Charles River Order Management System(s) and/or Execution Management System(s) is required. Providing application support to FlexTrade EMS/OMS would be preferred

Experience supporting a Portfolio Accounting System is required. Providing application support to Advent Geneva Portfolio Accounting System would be preferred

Experience supporting other applications such as IVP data warehouse, would be preferred
-
Experience supporting reporting/data delivery applications such as Tableau / Power BI / other business intelligence tools is a plus

Able to read and understand SQL scripting would be a plus

Experience performing complex data issue analysis within Excel using pivot tables, vlookups, and multi-step functions

Experience managing small projects is desirable

Good verbal and written communication skill

Ability to explain technical concepts and solutions to non-technical individuals

Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task

Strong work ethic and desire to achieve positive results

Willing to be vocal and share opinions on designs and approach
Salary Range: $100,000 - 130,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
